You can absolutely run an EV without a driveway — plenty of people do. The catch is cost. The cheap overnight rates that make EVs so cheap to run need a home connection.
If you can reach on-street or workplace AC charging, you'll pay more than a driveway but far less than relying on rapids. If your only realistic option is public rapid charging, an EV can still work for you, but the per-mile energy cost climbs sharply — enough that the savings versus petrol narrow a lot.
Set your charging situation to on-street or no home charging on any car page to see the honest cost for your situation. If you want to check whether your street could get a charger, that's what our installer enquiry is for.
